Lou Spitalnick is a photographer from Montauk, New York. He is one of few photographers who exclusively uses platinum printing for his photographs – a process known for its arduousness while creating a painterly effect in the details of the images. According to Spitalnick, “every picture is hand-coated… its tiring. Maybe I make a lot of trouble for myself. I have my own peculiar rituals.” He often photographs still lives, but occasionally he photographs different bridges around Manhattan.
