Gabriel Kohn is an American (Philadelphia, 1910) best known for his abstract sculptures. He studied in New York City at both the Cooper Union and Beaux-Arts Institute of Design. His interest in the role of negative and positive space is apparent in his sculptures, of both large and small scale.

Cubist and Surrealist influence can be seen in Kohn’s works. His interest in geometry in apparent in his designs, although many of his works also give off a sense of fluidity and balance.

Kohn’s work can be seen in collections including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, New York; Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida; Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; and Cranbrook Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
