Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1929, Guillermo Roux, studied at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts before moving to Rome in 1948 to work as a workshop assistant specializing in restoration.

He is best known for his watercolors, collages, frescos, and prints. Roux works induce a contemplative state within the viewer. An incredibly spiritual individual, Roux understands the ways in which his viewpoints and beliefs have become an innate part of his art. He understands art to be autobiographical.

Retrospectives of Roux’s work have been held at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC; Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Museo Staatliche Kunsthalle de Berlin in Berlin, Germany; and Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
